Yazdi Koofteh

Yazd is one of the central cities of Iran which is located in the heart of the desert, and has a different culture. In addition to special architectural features and spectacular glory, it also gives you the opportunity to taste traditional food in historic neighborhoods.

Koofteh Nokhodchi or Chickpea meatballs, also known as Yazdi meatballs, are among the traditional foods in Yazd province which are very popular and widely consumed among the people of this province. This delicious dish is prepared using ingredients such as minced meat, onions, chickpea flour, fragrant vegetables such as leeks and parsley, salt, pepper and turmeric.

Koofteh-Nokhodchi

The world city of Yazd these days welcomes many tourists who are looking for the taste of traditional food of Yazd to immerse themselves in the culture of this city. In the traditional restaurants of Yazd, one of the most original and of course the most delicious foods is Yazdi Koofteh-Nokhodchi. This stew is not much different from ordinary minced meat, only it replaces the cotyledons in two pieces. Other ingredients of this stew include meat, lemons, onions and cinnamon. In the past, raw chickpeas or chickpeas were used instead of chickpea flour. These beans which had been soaked since the night before, were beaten and poured into meatballs. This food is also known as Yazdi meatballs.
